The health and safety of our residents and visitors is a priority, and PUERTO VALLARTA Tourism is working closely with health and government officials for access to the most accurate and timely information regarding COVID-19.
The World Health Organization has declared a global pandemic and travelers from the United States and Canada have been ordered to avoid all non-essential international travel until further notice. From Friday, March 20 through Monday, March 30, 2020, residents and visitors throughout the state of Jalisco, including Puerto Vallarta, are encouraged to stay indoors and only leave when necessary to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Senior citizens, pregnant women, and people with chronic respiratory or degenerative diseases are advised against going outside. Government offices will remain open with limited staff available to assist citizens.
As dictated by the U.S. and Canadian federal governments, citizens of both countries currently in the State of Jalisco should arrange for immediate return unless they are prepared to stay in Mexico indefinitely. Airlines are operating with reduced frequency, but a limited number of direct flights to the United States and Canada are still available from Puerto Vallarta’s Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR) and via connections at Mexico City International Airport (MEX).
